Description   The 3 Cent nickel was well accepted and widely circulated, but was short-lived because the 5 Cent Coin, introduced just a year later, took its place in circulation. The unique coin was similar in size to the 10 Cent coin of the time, but with a distinctive color much whiter than other copper/nickel alloys in cuse. A classic Liberty head motif crowned with a headband is featured on the obverse; the reverse shows a Roman numeral III surrounded by a wreath.
