The New York Times ran their first crossword puzzle on Sunday, February 15, 1942. The crossword puzzle was added to the paper to give reader's something to do during blackouts due to WWII. The now famous crossword puzzle has had four editors and is syndicated in over 300 newspapers and journals. A licensed reproduction of the first puzzle is handsomely displayed in a black wood wall frame measuring approximately 16 by 14 inches and includes four genuine Lincoln pennies from 1942 to honor the first edition. A copy of the puzzle is also included for you to solve. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
