Description Technical Specs   The $10 Gold Piece was introduced in 1795, at that time the highest denomination coin authorized by the U.S.  Government.  Shortly afterward the price of gold skyrocketed, and many were melted for their metal.  Production was small -- in some years fewer than 2,000 pieces -- and stopped altogether from 1804 to 1838.  Already scarce, they practically  disappeared in 1933, when the U.S.  stopped issuing gold coinage and prohibited citizens from owning them.  Framed in our beautiful custom crafted 14K rope Gold design bezel, it becomes an exquisite piece of fine jewelry.  Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. $10 Liberty Head Gold Piece Eagle Coin Minted From 1838-1907 Diameter: 27mm Designed by Christian Gobrecht Minted of .900 Gold and .100 copper Weighs 16.718 grams Contains .48375 ounces of pure gold Related Products...
