Minted from 1823 to 1897, this Silver 8 Reales (equal to one peso) dates back to the early decades of Mexico's independence from Spain. The obverse features Mexico's Coat of Arms, from an ancient Aztec legend. The reverse portrays rays emanating from a cap, with the inscription "Libertad" -- a design used as early as 1823. Comes in a genuine leather pouch.
