The Native American Medicine Shields were sacred objects. The Indian Penny Medicine Shield Necklace combines the spirit guided power of the warrior and the beauty of liberty. Rich with historical value, the genuine Indian Head Penny was designed by noted engraver James Longacre to celebrate America's westward expansion and minted from 1859 to 1909. It depicts Liberty in an Indian bonnet. The silver tone medicine shield is styled with genuine Carnelian stone and three feathers with the United States Indian Head Penny. The pendant hangs from a 28 inch silver tone, cable chain with a lobster claw clasp. The years of the coin may vary. A Certificate of Authenticity included.
