Introduced in 1932 in honor of the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth, the Washington Quarter was intended to be a commemorative coin. It proved to be so exceptionally popular; however, that minting resumed in 1934 and has continued to the present day. This impressive collection of ten Washington Quarters contains one specimen from every decade the coin has been issued. Also included is one specimen from each of the U.S. Mints that produced the legendary coin: Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Denver. Each coin has been carefully hand-selected for quality. Those minted from 1932 to 1964 were struck of Solid 90% Fine Silver and are rarely, if ever, seen in circulation. Displayed in a handsome 6" x 8" inch portfolio, this memorable collection makes a truly special gift.
