Technical Specs

The $10 Gold Piece was introduced in 1795, at that time the highest denomination coin authorized by the U.S. Government. Shortly afterward the price of gold skyrocketed, and many were melted for their metal. Production was small -- in some years fewer than 2,000 pieces -- and stopped altogether from 1804 to 1838. Already scarce, they practically disappeared in 1933, when the U.S. stopped issuing gold coinage and prohibited citizens from owning them. Framed in our beautiful custom crafted 14K rope Gold design bezel with a 3 mm ruby, it becomes an exquisite piece of fine jewelry. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
