Since its first striking in 1796, the $2.50 Gold Piece was never produced in great quantities nor circulated widely.  The most unusual of this scarce denomination was minted from 1908 to 1929.  Designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, the lifelike Native American portrait, lettering, stars and date are sunken into the surface rather than raised on the coin.  The Quarter and Half Eagle Indian Heads stand alone among all American coins for this unique incused design.  Framed in our beautiful custom crafted 14K Gold teardrop and diamond bezel, it becomes an exquisite piece of fine jewelry.  Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
